A series of Gardening Classes are offered in the Spring of 2018, in partnership with the Grange, the Hunger Coalition and UI Extension.
The program includes classes, online YouTube videos, onsite workshops, and online documents.
So far 3 classes have been scheduled and will be held at the Hailey Public Library, 7 West Croy Street in Hailey, 3 Tuesdays, 5:30 to 6:30 pm
March 27th – Planning your garden
Location, micro-climates, beds, containers, sun expose,
preparing your soil, water source, what to grow & how much
April 24th – Seeding the garden and indoor starts
Choosing seeds, how to start seeds,
indoors & outdoors, when, transplanting, soil
May 29th – Composting and bugs
Compost as an amendment and fertilizer,
home composting, worm composting, pest prevention
These introductory level classes are free and open to all. Please register by contacting Sarah Busdon, UI Extension at (208) 788-5585, by email sarahb@uidaho.edu, or in person 302 1st Avenue South, Monday to Thursday.
